About Us

Welcome to the Shepparton Uniting Church website

We are a local Uniting Church that loves God and is faithful to Christ in worship, community life, and serving the wider community.

OUR VISION

We aim to be a church that strives to be characterised by:

  • Unity
  • A place of welcome
  • Vibrancy
  • Fellowship
  • Actively reaching out to others
  • Sharing gifts and resources

On November 29th 2009, with much celebrations, the 3 Uniting Church Congregations in Shepparton, South Shepparton, Wesley and St. David’s, united to create the Shepparton Uniting Church.

On Sunday February 4th 2018 our redevelopment works at 134-140 Fryers Street were opened in a worship service of dedication. This is where Shepparton Uniting Church is now located for all our worship and social activities.

We remain dedicated to faith, fellowship and mission for all within the Shepparton area and continue to support the Uniting Church Rural Congregations of Dookie, Katandra West, Pine Lodge and Kialla West.

Shepparton Uniting Church is a part if the Uniting Church in Austrlian within the Synod of Victoria and Tasmania located in the Presbytery of North East Victoria.

About the Uniting Church

The Uniting Church was created in 1977 from the unification of three Christian churches – Methodist, Presbyterian and the Congregational Union of Australia in 1977.

In uniting, the members of those bodies testified to “that unity which is both Christ’s gift and will for the Church” (basis of union, para. 1). Ecumenism remains a vital aspect in all of the church’s life and work – in congregations, national commitments to work together with other churches, and relationships and partnerships with churches of various denominations in Asia and the Pacific.
