Young people are a significant part of the Shepparton Uniting Church. Therefore, we seek to provide a safe environment where youth and young adults from various ages, stages, traditions and cultures, together learn about God’s love, and actively participate in our community of faith.
MaDaS Youth Group- Mooroopna And Dookie And Shepparton
This is the name that we call our Youth Group as it covers a few of the locations that make up where the Youth Group young people live. At times they can be “MaDaS” by name as well as by nature!
MaDaS is for year 7-12 students and runs from 6.30pm – 8.30pm on the 2nd and 4th Thursday nights of the month.
With a variety of games, activities, speakers, opportunity for service to the community and discussion times, the group provides an avenue for fun and friendship while exploring a variety of issues of life and faith through a creative, challenging and supportive environment.
MaDaS is also part of the Sonder Collective. The Sonder Collective is a collaborative youth and young adults ministry initiative. Which exists to support churches to serve alongside their young people, to be able to meet young people where they are at and to create a joint space where everyone has a place to belong.
Through this collective we are able to provide our young people the opportunities to engage with other young people to explore faith in a way, at times, not possible in small communities. These opportunities include activities such as State Youth Games and Sonder Youth Camp.
Monthly Youth Worship Service
Held on the 3rd Thursday of each month, altering locations between Shepparton and Mooroopna Uniting Churches, our Youth Service aims to provide a space for our Youth to explore their faith and praise God with their peers. We meet at 6pm for a shared meal, before worship at 7pm.
